HestiaLiving creations are crafted from exceptional and delicate material. The following is the Atelier’s advice on how to preserve their beauty.

 

PRINTED TABLEMATS & COASTERS

Please use the utmost care in use and cleaning of our products. The veneered surface of the printed mats and coasters is resistant to all reasonable fluids and food stains. Wipe clean with a damp cloth ONLY to gently remove dust and spills. Do NOT immerse in water or put in the dishwasher. Brush off any crumbs from the felt backing. This will keep the product fresh and prevent scratching other tablemats when stacked.

These mats are not suitable for use as a cutting board, as a knife will scratch the surface. Also, never place hot dishes on the mats, particularly straight from the oven.

It is important not to expose your pieces to water or high temperatures (such as hot dishes or prolonged sun exposure). Warping may occur if exposed to high temperatures or very humid conditions.

Please store mats flat and never on their sides, where the hand-painted edges may be damaged.

 

ACRYLIC TRAYS

It is important that you take proper care of your HestiaLiving acrylic trays to ensure that they will last for years to come. It is recommended that you use a suede-style chamois polishing cloth and/or a non-abrasive cloth/fabric towel along with a cleaning fluid stating that it is suitable for use on acrylic.

Do not place your tray on rough or uneven surfaces that can scrape the bottom. HestiaLiving trays are printed and sealed with a sealant, but it is not impenetrable and can be scratched. Should a rubber bumper come off, it can be replaced with similar new ones found at most hardware stores.

Please note that using any products containing ammonia, acetone or lactic acid will permanently damage the acrylic. Periodically, you can polish your acrylic piece to remove fine scratches and bring back the acrylic to its original glossy shine. We recommend using Novus Acrylic polishes and cleaners. You can find these products online or at select retail stores.

HestiaLiving acrylic pieces are not suitable for dishwashers or for use with very hot foods and liquids. These trays should be used in conjunction with the proper serving ware that will not scratch the surface.
